Meatballs & Creamy Sauce

Perfect comfort food 🙂

Ingredients:

To make meatballs:

500g lean minced beef

1 small onion finely diced

I clove of garlic crushed

1 tablespoon of Thyme for Garlic Spice

2 tablespoons of finely chopped parsley

1 teaspoon of Field Mushroom Salt

1/4 cup of Panko breadcrumbs

1 egg

Pepper to taste

To make the Sauce:

30g of butter

1 heaped tablespoon of plain flour

300ml of cream

1 teaspoon of mustard of your choice

1 tablespoon of Russian for Dinner Spice

1 teaspoon of brown sugar

Pepper to taste

300ml of beef stock

Diced parsley to garnish

Method:

To make the Meatballs:

1. Place mince, diced onion, garlic, spices salt and pepper, breadcrumbs and egg in a large bowl and mix well.

2. Using your hands, shape into small meatballs

3. Place in fridge for 15-20 mins to firm up

4. In a large frying pan, lightly spray with oil then place meatballs in and cook in small batches until golden brown. Place them on a plate.

5. Don’t worry about the brown bits at the bottom they add flavour later on

6. Once all of the meatballs are cooked, add your butter to the frying pan and once melted add in the flour and whisk to form a roux

7. Slowly add in your beef stock and whisk until thick

8. Add in cream, and remaining ingredients

9. Simmer until your sauce starts to boil

10. Add in meatballs and coat in sauce.

11. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes

12. Garnish with parsley

13. Serve with pasta or rice
